F-02Attributes & Variants

A data model that survives forty variants of one tool

Text, number, range, dropdown, multi-select and boolean attributes — each with its own unit of measurement, validation and position. Assign templates per category or brand, then let a family drive its variants.

01Capabilities

What it does

V-01

Typed attributes with units

Torque in Nm, speed in rpm, weight in kg, thread as a dropdown. Numeric attributes stay numeric, so filtering and comparison work properly.
V-02

Range values

Store 0.5–5.0 Nm as a genuine minimum and maximum, so a search for “under 2 Nm” returns the right tools.
V-03

Attribute templates

Define the spec sheet once per category or brand. Every new product in that category inherits the required fields.
V-04

Families and variant axes

Pick the axes that differ — voltage, drive size, ESD — and manage the shared data once at family level.
V-05

Required-field validation

Missing required attributes reduce the completeness score and surface in missing-info alerts before publication.
